so if you hadn't already figured out, måneskin is literally my special interest SO MUCH and i love them. a lot. a LOT LOT. and they just make me so happy and their music is so good and i just hhhhhhhh
måneskins music is so amazing in virtually every way I can think of, and if I could pay to listen to all of their songs for the first time again, i would pay any amount of money. And their music fits almost any emotion. Feeling sad/lonely? Listen to their ballads (Torna a Casa, Le Parale Lontane, VENT'ANNI, CORALINE, THE LONELIEST etc.) Feeling angry? Listen to their heavy and loud ass rock songs like ZITTE E BUONI, LIVIDI SU GOMITI, IN NOME DEL PADRE etc. Feeling neutral/happy? Listen to pretty much any of their songs. Honestly they're just so good and I love them a lot. But honestly because they're like my main special interest (is that a thing?) i think there is Even More I could say about them.
I think I partially love their music so much because it's honestly so new and iconic. I know rock and ballads have existed waaaayyy before Måneskin were even born, but their style of music kind of adds something new to the genres that they release music in, and in a way, they're reshaping and redefining the definitions of rock.
I think it's also because of the meanings behind their songs, and that there is no one definition. Yeah they can say that they wrote the song about the topic [x], but they've said in various interviews that they like to leave a majority of it up to personal interpretation and allow people to see themselves and their experiences in their songs. Personally, I would say the best example of this is "THE LONELIEST". Måneskin said they wrote it about a loved one dying, or losing someone close to you, but there's so many ways that can happen. They can pass away, or you could drift apart, or so many more, and you can relate the song to virtually any experience of this. And because most people have experienced loss in some way, pretty much anyone can relate to the song!!!!! THIS IS WHY THEY'RE SO GOOD
And I can't talk about one special interest (Måneskin) without looping in another special interest (languages). So obviously, Måneskin are Italian (and Vic is half-Danish and their name literally means "moonlight"/"moonshine" in Danish but I DIGRESS) so a lot of their songs are written in Italian. And because of this, my little autism brain has so many happy little moments and I think I just attach myself to their Italian songs and its just so brainrot but in the best possible way.
And then also I just find that their songs are the best form of escapism. It's pure music, just a song you can listen to almost whenever, and it can't judge you if you're singing out of tune, or you're stumbling over the lyrics or you're mispronouncing the Italian lyrics. And I always feel more at home when I listen to their songs, if that makes sense? Måneskin and their songs are kind of like a comfort without being right next to you, they're just helping by existing
