nisemono - ginger root

GOD i love nisemono. i discovered it as a few days after the release of the music video for loneliness last year, it came across my youtube recommended and i wouldn't usually click on just a random song that pops up but something made me click it i guess and i just. wow. i fell in love so that went immediately on my spotify playlist but for some reason i didn't clock that it had the story to it?? but yeah then i kept listening to that and got kind of into ginger root's music and then on the 15th of april 2023 i'd been going a bit beasty about him so i looked him up and on the front page of his website is obviously the info about the nisemono storyline with the loneliness mv. so i was like "oh i know that song! whats this about a story" and i went and watched the whole youtube playlist (HIGHLY RECOMMEND!! it has all of the mvs as well as extra material which completely immerses you into this world). it's so very very good, i'd say it's my favourite album/ep ever at the moment, even the videos are so period-accurate. it's all so amazing and you should go check him out !!

i might at some point upload side A here to listen to, but i can't find side B online anywhere and the digital mp3 download card included with the tape seems to confirm this, so unless i find out he's released it somewhere i won't upload that considering that he is a small artist and acrophase is a small label.

for some reason, i'm not sure if it's my tapedeck or the tape itself (although google tells me it's probably the player, and that's a bit dodgy anyway, so we'll see) but this plays a semitone higher than the original EP, and that initally really threw me off but actually now i'm not so averse to it. i love it. it puts a new perspective on the songs if that makes sense? like i hear different bits of the instrumental that maybe i didn't notice before, sort of like when you're buying something online and you look at it in a different colour to get a better idea of what it looks like. definitely consolidated it as So Good for me !! i'll see what it's like when i get a new player.

i bought this online from the acrophase records online shop, and it arrived on the 12th of may 2023 (literal MINUTES before the premiere of the everything's alright music video, the final one of the ep!!)
