I think David Bowie just saw an opportunity to fit a load of gnome puns into a song and you know what i can respect that. There are SO many gnome puns in this song and they are all awful and i just adore that. this playlist is for a niche audience of emotional darren criss fans aka ME!!! i absolutely adore darren criss but because the first time i ever heard of him was in avpm i guess i never really comprehended that he's actually famous? and so hearing his early early stuff (i.e. little white lie to avps) makes me so emotional so i thought i'd make a playlist of effectively his 'eras' to make myself cry! also my spotify just straight up refuses to play glee songs which is a blessing in most contexts but unfortunately here it means i get this weird timeskip from 2010 to 2017, but i suppose that's basically what happened with his main discography anyway so? but yeah i used to be massively hyperfixated on darren and his work (which is how i had my unfortunate glee era, explored on my first proper website where i learned how to code well, will-schue.neocities.org) and to an extent i still am. which is why i have THREE OF HIS CDS AND TWO ARE SIGNED!! i got human from amazon in 2020, although i'm not convinced it isn't a knockoff but then again it's from 2010 so i can understand if it's in bad condition; i got a signed cd of a very darren crissmas in 2021; and i got a cd single of for a night like this in 2021 and funny story i ordered the (specified to be) unsigned version because i couldn't see that you could order a signed one on its own and then it turned up signed!!!! i have an accidentally signed darren criss cd!!!!! anyway that's the end of my darren criss paragraph ahdjkah
