MY CASSETTES
i bought my first cassette because ginger root's nisemono
EP was not available on CD, and anyway i'd been wanting to start buying cassettes so why not, and then i got a cassette player a day later and made a mixtape of darren criss songs and then the day after i went beast mode and got 3 in a charity shop and oajdidsncj
click on a tape to learn more about it!
aforementioned darren criss mixtape will be added soon; i forgot to scan it with the others and right now i can't move enough to go and scan it; it will be here when i remember !
my equipment
god "equipment" sounds so formal but i don't know what else to say so,,
- bush cassette player and recorder - i do not recommend this really, it seems to be okay for playback (although it may be causing pitch issues so actually i don't even know about that) but recording quality is honestly rubbish, and you have to HOLD DOWN the record button, it doesn't click in place, which on top of being painful as shit because it needs a fair bit of pressure also means that if you let go a little the recording quality wavers which is Not good. i am looking to get a new one at some point, if i can get a refund on this one
- i don't know what blank tapes i use but they're type 1 and 60 minutes and they do me just fine (you can get 90 minute ones also)
- sony headphones that are so cool and blue when they catch the light. they look like MDR-ZX310 but i don't think they're identical - my sister has a pair of those and the insides are slightly different, they're similar though and i know hers are good so
- just a double ended 3.5mm lead i found in my house to record - put one end into the microphone jack in the tape machine and then lie to a computer and say it's a pair of headphones at the other end and then play whatever you want from any source to record it onto a tape
